Amazon onsite commission: rates by category and what a video earns

Onsite commission is what Amazon pays influencers for purchases that come from their videos and photos on Amazon itself. The rates are a separate table, and they differ a lot by category and marketplace.

What is onsite commission?

Onsite commission is what Amazon pays influencers for purchases that come from their content on Amazon itself. Videos, photos and idea lists you publish through the Influencer Program may be shown to shoppers as they browse, including product detail pages, search results and the homepage, according to Amazon. When someone clicks your content and buys, you earn the onsite rate.

The difference to classic Associates: there you bring the buyers through your links. With onsite, Amazon provides the reach and you provide the content.

When onsite commission applies

Amazon’s help describes the rules (the US and UK pages use the same wording):

  • The purchase has to come from your content on Amazon. Amazon calls these “Direct Qualifying Purchases”: the shopper clicks through from your onsite content to a product page and buys that exact product variant.
  • Your own traffic is excluded. What you send through your own links earns standard Associates rates.
  • Separate store ID per country. Amazon automatically creates an onsite store ID, which may start with “onamz”. Each country has its own, content has to be published in that country, and payment and tax details are added per ID.
  • To opt out, remove the content from your storefront.

Amazon’s US help also says: after 10 of your videos pass moderation and you sign up for onsite commissions, they may appear on product detail pages.

US onsite commission rates

From Amazon’s official US table (standard onsite content). Bounty events are excluded.

1.00% All other categories

Amazon also publishes a second, higher US table for Creator Ads, ranging from 0.5% to 5%.

UK and Canada at a glance

Every marketplace has its own onsite table. These are the main rates as of 15 October 2026; we grouped the categories, and the official pages list the exact names and exceptions:

UK Canada
Apparel, shoes, jewelry, luggage 6% 5%
Furniture, home, home improvement, garden 4% 4.5%
Kitchen 4% 3%
Beauty 3.5% 5%
Sports 3.5% 3%
Electronics 2% 2.5%
Toys 3.5% 1.5%
All other categories 1.5% 2%

Germany has its own table too, very close to the UK one. It is covered in our German guide on Onsite-Provision.

Worked example: what does one sale earn?

A simple calculation shows why product choice matters so much. For simplicity we use the sale price; Amazon calculates under its own terms, so treat these as estimates.

  • $40 pan, Kitchen, US (1.25%): about $0.50 per sale.
  • $40 planter, Lawn & Garden, US (3%): about $1.20 per sale.
  • $40 toy, Toys, US (0.5%): about $0.20 per sale.

Same effort for the video, very different result. On top of that comes how well the product sells and how many other influencer videos already run on it.

How to get more out of onsite videos

  1. Check first whether a video is possible. Not every product accepts influencer videos.
  2. Mind the category. The onsite rate decides what each sale earns.
  3. Check how crowded it is. If many influencer videos already run, yours is shown less often.
  4. Pick products that sell. Many product pages show how often the item was bought in the past month.

Reelgap shows all four at a glance, including the onsite rate and the commission per sale for amazon.com, .co.uk, .ca and .de.
